Ah. It's been a while now but I STILL CAN'T WRAP MY HEAD AROUND THE FACT THAT I AM NOW EIGHTEEN. Wow. Time flies super fast. A few months back, my parents asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I told them that I wanted to have a party, because we RARELY host parties. The last time I had a birthday party was a long time back, my 12th birthday. I wanted a simple celebration with just my closest friends and family. I certainly looove taking photos so we also made sure to pick a place that would look best in pictures. My sisters came up with the idea of a bohemian-themed party, so we decided to host it in a park. Since most of my friends and family live close or in Dubai, we thought the Pond Park at Al Barsha would be the perfect venue. Thus, all the major details were set. We got busy, busy, busy with all the preparations. I guess my parents were the most excited since it has been a long time since we last hosted a party. My dad's (amazing) cooking skills were put to the test especially for one dish that he really insisted on making. That one took about 3 or so hours. I'm not even kidding! My VERY supportive sisters and I, finished making the decorations we needed (of course with a little procrastination here and there but at least). My birthday fell on a weekday so we had to have the celebration four days later so that it would be a Saturday. Unfortunately, that Saturday was the last day of Spring Break so a few of my friends couldn't make it because y'know, last-minute preparations for school the next day. The 7th of April was a HOT day and my cousin, sisters and I almost gave up while we were setting up a few hours early at the park. Luckily, the weather cooled down as the hours went by. Some of the set-up things we needed came late, along with my parents who had to pass by a lot of places before getting to the park. I'm grateful for my very creative friends who helped along to set up everything. They literally saved the day! As more and more people kept arriving, even a few who were a surprise ( a good one), I began to feel so much happiness and thankfulness for having all of them in my life. Yeah, there were a few who I wished could've made it, but the ones who were present made me have an awesome time! Everyone had a good time. At the end of the day, it's not all about me anymore, but my loving Jesus who made all of these possible, and definitely blessed me with a fantastic eighteenth birthday. I picked some photos to share with y'all and here they are!
