Whenever you feel happy, do you jump for joy, write it in your diary, or simply close your eyes and savor the moment? No matter what we do, we can't deny that we all crave for happiness. And we all have our "happy pills". I've written some of mine down. What's yours?
Music speaks to me in so many ways I couldn't put into words. I'm especially happy whenever my kind of songs come up on the radio or inside malls or even in any place that has a speaker! Even playing the guitar makes me happy. So yep, music it is.
2. Unexpected blessings
The best things happen when you least expect it. Much like last April. During Hillsong's first concert night here in Dubai, my sister and I were supposed to be seated in only Pearl (which was located at the furthest and uppermost of the stadium, but I guess God works in mysterious ways, and He proved that when my Dad met a church friend lining up for Platinum (the nearest seating place in the area). The man offered two of his unused Platinum tickets to my Dad, who then let my sister and I have it. See? Unexpected things are the best kind of things. Plus, the concert was lit!
3. Hanging out with old friends
One thing I don't like about living in Dubai is that your friends always come and go. Sigh. I really, really miss a lot of my friends so it really makes me happy when I get to see them and hang out with them.
4. Strawberry cheesecake
What?! I love them okay? No further explanations needed.
5. Dogs and Puppies
Growing up, I've always had dogs around me, My parents already had dogs before I was even born! Dogs are a very important part of my life and that's why I bawled my eyes out (okay, this is getting dramatic) when our family's last dog died last year.
6. Being in the Water
There's always something about being in water that makes me happy. I feel peaceful, contented, and at ease. Although I don't really swim that good (at least I don't drown!), The beach or pool makes me feel good. What can I do? The water calls me. Of course I wave back. Pun intended, Sorry not sorry!
7. Getting work done before the deadline
Don't you just love it when you finish what you have to finish before the time is finished? (Okay, I'm lost now.) I do. Getting things done earlier means more free time!
8. Having a good night's rest
Good sleep = happy mood
Some think rain is a symbol of melancholy, but I just love the sound of tiny water droplets falling to the ground. ! It rarely rains here in the UAE, so when it does, I almost jump for joy.
10.That still small voice telling me that "everything will be alright."
No matter how hard a day or situation might be, there's always that tiny voice whispering comfort in my ear. And I'm forever grateful for it!
